NixTrainz, founded by Nick Santo, is the creator of the Decoder Buddy, a popular, NMRA-standard, 21-pin, motherboard designed to simplify Digital Command Control (DCC) installations in model locomotives. The board replaces stock motherboards to allow easy installation of 21-pin decoders from brands like ESU, SoundTraxx, and TCS, offering 4 to 12 lighting outputs and onboard resistors.
