TCS Keep Alive® (KA) devices are used to supply power to decoders during times of power interruption due to dirty track or problematic track work. The KA5 will power an HO-Scale locomotive with headlights on for approximately 6 to 20 seconds (depending on the locomotive and the efficiency of the motor). The plug is polarized and designed to only be connected in the correct orientation.

Note: You may cut the two-pin connector off and hard-wire this Keep Alive to the decoder if your decoder does not have the Keep Alive socket. Otherwise, purchase a Keep Alive without the 2-pin connector in our store.
